The SRI&ETTC invites you and your colleagues to the Google's Applied Digital Skills training on May 9, 2018 from 9:00am - 3:00pm at the SRI&ETTC Stockton University. This is a FREE event.

This free digital literacy curriculum for practical problem solving with digital tools, which is part of our ?Grow with Google initiative, helps learners obtain new digital skills using G Suite so that they can prepare for job and life situations. The training is intended to get you up and running with the online program. This is a great program that you can use with your students by having them engage in some of the units or the whole course! This event is to help technology teachers, school administrators, media specialists, and others get comfortable with the curriculum and tailor it to their specific learners' needs.

Event Details: The SRI&ETTC and The Ceceilyn Miller Institute are pleased to announce the 8th Annual Anti-Bullying and School Safety Conference on the Stockton University campus. The theme of the conference this year is "Promoting Safe and Supportive Schools for All Our Students" with a focus on preventing peer mistreatment of our most vulnerable students, including special education students, sexual minority students, immigrant students and other targeted populations, so that all students feel safe and welcome at school.

The 2018 Anti-Bullying & School Safety Conference will serve as a venue for the most knowledgeable national scholars and practitioners to share their expertise on the prevention of bullying and the creation of safe, positive school climate and culture.

The Conference welcomes the participation of school personnel including Anti-Bullying Coordinators, Anti-Bullying Specialists, School Psychologists, Social Workers, SAC's, School Resource Officers, and Public Safety as well as personnel from other organizations that work with youth.

Event Details: If you teach music or computer sciences and would like an option for a musical/STEM activity for your classes, this workshop is for you. We will be using EarSketch (a free web-based app developed by faculty at Georgia Tech) to learn how to code in Python or Javascript while assembling sound loops to create music compositions. This is a fun and easy way to for a novice to learn coding as well as musical form. No experience is necessary to start but there is plenty of room to grow if you are already advanced in one of these areas. So if you are a computer teacher wishing to funkify your "Hour of Code" or a music teacher who would like to teach musical form and structure in an interactive way, this workshop is for you. EarSketch is also wonderful for a music/computer science integrated project. This workshop is best suited for grades 5 and above.

The session will cover linking slides between presentations, inserting charts that update in real-time and how to zoom in and out of slides while presenting. Event Details: The new "Google Sites" app is easy to use and integrates beautifully with all G Suite apps. When used with Google classroom it can be a valuable tool for combining more complex lessons with mixed media. Use Sites to create a classroom web page or simply make a site anytime you want to provide an online presence for a lesson or topic. You can easily insert text, links and images or embed a Google Slides presentation as well as YouTube videos to formulate a web-based, multimedia lesson. Additionally, students can create sites for projects. If you have been using the older version of Sites you will be amazed at the simplicity and functionality of the new version.
