A Math and Literacy Workshop for Teachers Grades K-2 to Implement Agriculture in the Classroom
Using stories participants will discover a lesson incorporating plans, materials, and Common Core Standards so they can plant the seeds of Math and Literacy in their students using Agriculture. Each of the selected books is an Accurate AG Book, which tells the story of farming with facts, feelings and fun!
One set of books will be donated to each school that sends a teacher to the workshop. All participants will receive the materials needed to reproduce the lessons. Using the Common Core Standards and Strategies flip chart from Mentoring Minds, the appropriate Standard has been assigned to each lesson being presented.

This workshop is presented by the SRI&ETTC at Stockton University in collaboration with the New Jersey Farm Bureau.
The New Jersey Farm Bureau is a private, non-profit organization whose goals are to advocate, inform and promote Agriculture in New Jersey. The Women's Leadership Committee, which is presenting this workshop, tells New Jersey's family farm stories as they provide America's safe and affordable food, fuel and fiber to New Jersey and the world.
