Event Details: If you are a music or computer science teacher who would like an option for a musical/STEM activity for your classes, this workshop is for you! In this workshop we will be using EarSketch (a free web-based app developed by faculty at Georgia Tech) to learn how to code in Python or Javascript while assembling sound loops to create music compositions. EarSketch is a fun and easy way to for a novice to learn coding, as well as musical form.
There is no experience is necessary to start but there is plenty of room to grow if you are already advanced in one of these areas. So if you are a computer teacher wishing to funkify your "Hour of Code" or a music teacher who would like to teach musical form and structure in an interactive way, this workshop is for you. EarSketch is also wonderful for a music/computer science integrated project.
This workshop is best suited for grades 5 and above.
The workshop will be presented by Phil Polsinelli, SRI&ETTC Instructor and certified Google Trainer.
