Event Details: Engineering the E in STEM should have a prominent place in the science classroom. Educators attending this workshop will realize what engineering should look and sound like in their classroom. Engineering as a discipline in which science and math concepts are applied, rather than engineering as just "building stuff" will be a focus.
Educators attending this interactive and engaging workshop will:
engage in several engineering challenges
understand the iterative nature of the engineering design process
identify online grade-level and curricula appropriate engineering challenges
plan for the successful implementation of engineering challenges
BYOD! Bring your own device. Please bring a laptop or tablet, wireless access will be available.
The workshop will be presented by Barbara Mammen.
Ms. Mammen is an Educational Consultant, and former science teacher, district Supervisor of Science and Technology, and STEM Project Manager at Stevens Institute of Technology and Rider University.
